so , song theory

everyone i have talked to has reported experiencing this effect where a song would sound much better after a couple of listens . First time only seldom songs hit the spot and even those achieve a bump in likeness after a few replays . this is a peculiar phenomenon to me and hence i have a hypothesis

repetition of a song makes connections in your brain aka memory of the general tune , sounds and the lyrics of a song . and now at the third listen or whatever the brain starts to predict what the next beat , tune or lyric is coming up next and when the prediction is almost immediately confirmed , this causes a dopamine release in the brain similar to getting an answer right in a math test . this continual conformation of correct answers pertaining to the song causes a rolling snow ball effect of dopamine and similar motivating , feel good hormones in the brain . this is why songs feel and sound better after a few listens . this is backed up by the fact that even a song you hate or is off your genera will make you feel good after a few accidental listens .
